Roundtable 1: COVID-19 & Climate Change: Forecasting in Insecure Times
20 April from 13:00 - 14:00
No one could have foreseen the COVID-19 pandemic. An external shock par excellence! After almost a year, this sudden, unpredictable health crisis is still a nightmare for any financial forecast.
The effects of climate change can also upset our short- and long-term revenue projections: EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne) estimates that climate change costs the Swiss state up to ten billion Swiss francs per year. In neighbouring Germany, climate change is perceived (according to COVID-19) as one of the biggest problems currently facing society. This roundtable will discuss what we can learn from the pandemic for future forecast adjustments. We will provide information on what strategies are available to react quickly in financial forecasting and how extended data sets can be used to make more accurate forecasts.
Speakers: Dr. Dominik Bertsche (Predictive SAP Analytics Expert @s-peers AG) & Dr. Yvonne Avaro (Head of Marketing & Insights @s-peers AG)
Roundtable 2: Breath in - Data out: Get the Most Data out of Your Sensors
20 April from 15:00 - 16:00
Regular ventilation of closed rooms has always been of great importance. Especially in times of pandemics, it is of immense importance to ventilate a room or an entire building, such as a school, above a certain CO2 level. Until now, data on air quality has often only been measured and far too rarely integrated into forecasts and business plans. The possibility of determining an exact time for ventilation by means of data analysis is a crucial point that will be discussed at this roundtable.
s-peers AG and Sensirion will jointly present their innovative concept that stores, analyses and uses CO2 data for forecasts. They will also discuss how such valuable sensor data sets can be used to optimise existing business processes and develop new business models.
Speakers: Matthias Feldle (Head of Industrie 4.0 @s-peers AG) & Pascal Gerner (Director Product Management @Sensirion)
