The Bachem Group, founded in Switzerland, is a listed, innovative company specialising in the
development and production of peptides and oligonucleotides. These organic compounds
are used in medical research for cosmetics and diagnostics, among other things, and as active ingredients in medicines.

Bachem's software landscape consisted of incompatible isolated solutions. The internationally active company wanted to say goodbye to this. The focus was to shift from the time-consuming compilation of data to profitable data analysis. And instead of static reports, Bachem wanted an interactive solution.

The requirements were clear - Bachem found the solution in SAP Analytics Cloud. This software fulfils all the company's wishes. It makes the previous isolated applications superfluous, provides the information required in each case in real time and also mastered the most important hurdle during the evaluation Bachem, as Patric Felden explains: "We chose SAP Analytics Cloud because it is user-friendly."

Strategic multitool

The fact that SAP Analytics Cloud is much more than a tool for visual presentation became immediately clear to those responsible at Bachem when they were advised by the SAP partner s-peers. The Swiss SAP manufacture, which then also implemented the software solution, was able to clearly demonstrate how the SAP product combines all relevant functions around reporting, analysis and advanced analytics and thus becomes a strategic multitool.

Solution

The implementation of SAP Analytics Cloud made the numerous incompatible stand-alone solutions at Bachem
AG obsolete - and with it the tedious and time-consuming pulling together of data and reports. With greatly reduced effort, relevant questions can be analysed quickly with the SAP solution, and the system also opens up countless reporting options that were new to Bachem.

This benefits not only the company as a whole, but also the individual departments. "With SAP Analytics Cloud, we have given them a tool with which they can independently answer questions about their business and their processes," explains Patric Felden. "This is of great advantage because the departments understand their processes best themselves." Thanks to the software, which is easy and intuitive to use, the employees can not only quickly recognise changes, but also the resulting need for action.
