About Hekatron
Since their founding in 1963, the Hekatron companies (Hekatron Brandschutz, Hekatron Manufacturing, and Hekatron Service Center) have been pioneering innovators in the field of fire protection. The technological cornerstone of their success lies in the introduction of the optical smoke detector, which significantly improved smoke detection. Since its founding, the company has grown to over 1,070 employees at two locations in Baden-Württemberg and, with annual sales of €265 million, is one of the leading manufacturers of fire protection systems in Germany.
The challenge: Replacing Excel-based cost center planning
Hekatron faced the challenge of modernizing its central cost center planning process. Until now, all planning was based on a complex landscape of Excel spreadsheets. For a company of this size, this manual process was not only time-consuming and resource-intensive, but also prone to errors and difficult to track due to decentralized data maintenance. The increasing demands for speed, accuracy, and flexibility could no longer be met with this manual approach.
The project: Financial planning in five months
With the introduction of cloud-based financial planning, Hekatron has taken a decisive step away from manual Excel processes and toward modern, system-supported planning. Replacing time-consuming processes enables the company to work much more efficiently. System-integrated planning ensures consistent, reliable data, thereby increasing the accuracy and transparency of budgets. At the same time, decision-makers benefit from greater flexibility: scenarios, versioning, and forecasts enable well-founded, forward-looking decisions. Hekatron can thus not only save resources, but also improve the strategic management of the company on the basis of reliable data.
