What questions might still be open?

SAP Datasphere (formerly DWC) is a solution that allows individual user groups (without SQL or programming knowledge) to create their own analysis applications independently, agilely and quickly. In addition, SAP Datasphere (formerly DWC) is a no-code environment and therefore much more intuitive and streamlined than BW/4HANA. This creates a secure connection of all data, intuitive modeling and visualization, and data sharing in just one environment.

Since SAP Datasphere (formerly DWC) is a SaaS solution, it naturally also benefits from the advantages of a cloud solution. With SAP Datasphere (formerly DWC), it is much easier to develop a prototype compared to the previous BW applications, since no setup or installation is necessary at the beginning. SAP takes care of updates and maintenance at this point. In terms of elasticity, computing resources are also distributed in such a way that they adapt to the respective requirements and can be scaled up or down as needed.

In November 2021, the BW Bridge Option was published, by means of which the existing BW models, transformations and adaptations can also be reused in SAP Datasphere (formerly DWC). This shortens the implementation time of SAP Datasphere (formerly DWC) enormously. The BW Bridge option supports all BW versions from 7.3x.

SAP Datasphere (formerly DWC) is suitable for both the brownfield approach (the respective company already has a data warehouse solution) and the greenfield approach (the respective company does not yet have a data warehouse). More detailed information about the different scenarios and approaches can be found in our Data Warehouse Guide.

Cloud concepts will become more and more important in the future. Building a data warehouse with SAP Datasphere (formerly DWC) has a positive long-term impact on the data infrastructure. Management decisions strongly depend on the quality of the data. An optimal data preparation therefore leads to sustainable decisions. The costs for an individual implementation strongly depend on the requirements and the existing environment. We would be happy to provide you with a non-binding quote for your data warehouse solution.

Together with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), which has been established on the market for some time , SAP Datasphere (formerly DWC) forms the core of the "SAP HANA Cloud Services" product range. Both cloud solutions are based on the highest technology standards, managing data in a secure environment. Communication between the local computer and the cloud is always encrypted - this ensures that third parties cannot gain access to the respective data.
