🏅 SAP award: SAP Competency Framework selects s-peers AG as BTP Advanced Partner

Post Interview Michael-Comp Framework

s-peers AG has been awarded as SAP BTP Advanced Partner: In this article, Daniel Moser (Senior Account Manager ) interviews the Managing Director of s-peers AG, Michael May, about this award. In five questions, the Competency Framework as such and the significance of the award for s-peers AG are discussed.

Interview intro

Hello Michael, thank you very much for taking the time to talk to us. Inmid-August 2022, SAP announced that the award for SAP partners, SAP Recognized Expertise, will be replaced by the Competency Framework.

Can you briefly explain in your own words what the Competency Framework is?

SAP regularly awards its SAP consulting firms with a seal of approval. The former was the SAP Recognized Expertise seal of approval. This was replaced by the Competency Framework in summer 2022. The SAP Partner Seal of Approval enables better assessment, classification and comparability of SAP consulting firms. A new feature of the Competency Framework is that there are seven competencies, within each of which there are gradations ("specializations"): This means that a consulting firm can be classified in a category as either Essential, Advanced or Expert.

What advantages does such a framework bring from the perspective of a consulting firm?

There are two main benefits: First, the Competency Framework gives potential customers an orientation guide. Compared to the old award concept, it is easier to see who specializes in what and, above all, how good they are at it. Secondly, it is a marketing criterion for us. In principle, anyone can say "I can do SAP," but the Competency Framework makes this statement measurable. The award thus enables us to differentiate ourselves in the market and generally increases transparency.

In which Competency Framework Specialization exactly has s-peers AG been awarded?

Under the SAP Partner Finder s-peers AG (ondemand.com) is proven: s-peers AG is awarded "Advanced" in the area of Business Technology Platform (BTP)!

Partnership SAP BTP Advanced

What do you have to do to get the Advanced BTP award?

Quantification criteria for the award are, for example, the number of acquired official SAP certifications or successful customer projects with the new BTP technologies. In our case, with niche expertise in Analytics, the specializations for planning and reporting are essential. In addition, we also employ certified Google consultants, since SAP Analytics platforms can also be operated efficiently hybrid with the GCP (Google Cloud Platform), among other things.

What does this award mean for the s-peers?

To speak in the shipping analogy: The BigFive consulting firms- like PWC or Accenture are tankers - s-peers is a slim catamaran! s-peers is a small but fine consulting firm with about 45 consultants. All of them are specialized in SAP Analytics transformation processes. So far, only a few smaller consulting firms in Switzerland have received an award. We are particularly proud of such an award and it encourages us to do what we do for our customers - in the spirit of craftsmanship - to to create the optimal SAP Analytics transformation process for them!
