At the SAP Data Unleashed event on 08. March 2023, SAP not only presented new strategic partnerships, but also the SAP Datasphere as the successor to the Data Warehouse Cloud (DWC). As an SAP partner, s-peers AG specializes in data management, reporting and planning. Michael May, Managing Director of s-peers AG, comments on this.
New dimensions in data warehousing and data management with SAP Datasphere. - Statement by Managing Director Michael May
"SAP showed us all at the SAP Data Unleashed event that a new generation of data management is dawning. We are entering an era of data management where I know where the data is at all times and where I can access it from anywhere. It's also much easier to connect to external data sources." Michael May compares this to listening to music: "In my youth, I had to buy individual cassettes or CDs. Now I only use streaming services. Similarly, SAP Datasphere is setting a trend - moving away from individual silos to a meta-level, making departments more connected."
Existing customers already benefit
What Michael May means by this becomes clear when you take a closer look at SAP Datasphere. The platform enables SAP users to exchange SAP and non-SAP as well as cloud or on-premise data sources. This allows data to be harmonized across the entire value chain of a product - and all in the cloud.
With SAP Datasphere, companies can link essential data for direct use in analytical business processes. This enables more effective decision making and a better understanding of customer needs.
The renaming of the Data Warehouse Cloud (DWC) to SAP Datasphere reflects the vision for the future data warehousing product and repositions SAP in the market. Existing DWC / SAP Datasphere customers can already benefit from the vision: The new functionalities are automatically integrated into their product environment and workflows continue without interruption - migration is therefore not necessary.
Implementing SAP Datasphere with s-peers AG
s-peers AG is proud to have already certified many of its data warehousing consultants and to implement the new SAP Datasphere features with its customers. "We want to offer our customers the best possible consulting and support for the digital transformation of their business processes. We are convinced that SAP Datasphere will play an important role in achieving this goal," concludes Michael May.
