Redshift's columnar database is designed to connect with SQL-based clients and business intelligence tools to deliver real-time data to users. Redshift is based on PostgreSQL 8 and offers high performance even for large data sets to help companies make informed business decisions.
How does the connection between SAP, DWC and AWS Redshift work?
SAP Datasphere has data connectors to a wide range of different systems, such as Amazon Redshift and, of course, SAP systems. If data is available on Amazon Redshift that needs to be evaluated together with SAP data, SAP DWC can serve as a bridge between these two source systems. The key advantage of SAP DWC is that it provides virtual access to the source systems: only the data required for the current access is retrieved from the relevant sources in real time. SAP DWC federates the necessary calculations to the source systems wherever possible.
